A Megyaszói Gyermekotthon történetét bemutató kiállítást nyitottak meg november 3-án délután a község Faluházában. Az intézmény 1951-ben nyitotta meg kapuit az egykori Báró Harkányi Kastélyban, ami akkor 270 lakónak biztosított otthont .   A hatvanegy esztendővel ezelőtt Debrecenből Megyaszóra költözött Állami Gyermekotthon a nehéz sorsú gyermekek elhelyezését, nevelését szolgálta.
